In June 2022, a devastating wildfire burned nearly 2,000 hectares in the municipality of Arguedas, Navarra, affecting forestland, shrubland and agricultural areas close to the Bardenas Reales Biosphere Reserve. TUI Forest Navarra restores 40 hectares of fire-affected forest as part of a broader 320-hectare hydrological forest restoration initiative. The project combines native tree planting, assisted natural regeneration and water management improvements to restore ecosystems, protect biodiversity and support local communities. Developed by Land Life in partnership with the TUI Care Foundation, and in collaboration with the Municipality of Arguedas, the Government of Navarra and Sendaviva Nature Park, the project connects ecosystem restoration with community engagement and sustainable tourism.
